Uhh, shoot them? That’s why you have a gun, you shoot them with it. Are you insane?ġ:08 - 1:21: He reaches the first boss and starts complaining that there’s too many enemies and he can’t avoid them. What the hell? Are you implying that Super C is harder than the first game? “They pretty much made the same game, but doubled the amount of enemies.” Good god he did, he thinks Super C is harder than Contra. He notes how it hasn’t made any changes in graphics and gameplay so it should be familiar to people that played the first one.Ġ:54 - 1:07: Bores remarks that if we thought the first game was hard then “we ain’t seen nothing yet”. Points for doing it correctly.Ġ:43 - 0:53: “Once you’re dropped out of a helicopter, your mission begins” I’m really tired of your Captain Obvious statements, can’t you write your reviews without thinking your viewers are pants-on-head retarded? Plus, advertisements in Nintendo Power and other magazines helped.īores puts the game in his NES starting the review. “…but how would anybody know this is a Contra game by looking at the title?” The big, freaking C in the title is the same font as the original game. “Now I’m not a marketing genius or anything…” understatement of the year. One play of “Digital Juice’s Blind Pass” later.Ġ:20 - 0:42: Bores starts off saying Contra was successful and that they released a sequel titled Super C. He combined both titles into one, making it sound like he’s reviewing some game called “Super Contra Force”. Title: I want to briefly address the title of this video. I’m still on the fence whether this video is worse than the first Contra review. So he released a second Contra video, this one covering Super C and Contra Force. It may not be a case of inaccurate emulation but a limitation of the original game. After his Contra review, Bores wasn’t done with showing people he’s a terrible gamer. Were you using autofire in Contra arcade? I suspect high autofire rates with spread shot may cause slowdown. Just in terms of the emulation though, as a lifelong Contra player who tends to be very sensitive to issues with various ports these games have seen over the years, I feel the emulation is fairly solid and feels just fine. Even so, this is an overall quality package I was glad to support. It was only recently they even announced this, so M2 may have had to cut their development time.

It's still great, but M2 must've been rushed by Konami.

Uncharacteristic of M2-their Shot Triggers series among their numerous works has top-notch emulation.

The PS4 version has the same slowdown problem for AC Contra and missing sounds in AC Super Contra. There's a very slight input delay I feel in the NES games, but I don't think you're going to notice it too heavily unless you know what you're looking for. A few sound effects in Super C on NES don't seem to be replicated properly. Super Contra seems to be missing the voice samples from the intro and the "Please continue," announcer when you've lost all remaining lives. Contra arcade seems to have an intense amount of slowdown that I don't remember being in the original or DS version that appeared on the Konami Arcade Collection released back then. I think its pretty safe to say and also judging from their immense track record of what they've accomplished over many years that M2 knows how to deliver solid products, so i don't really understand where this whole M2 is one of the worst devs out there comes from. Digital Eclipse has done some very good things i'll give you that, but when people from Digital Eclipse themselves saying and this is a direct quote from a producer at Digital Eclipse "They consider M2 to be the industry standard when it comes bringing classic games to modern platforms" It's seems weird to me that you put DotEmu into the catergory of some of the best developers at porting classic games when they are known in the dedicated retro gaming community as one of the very worst (Irem Arcade Hits for pc, the neo ports on steam to name just a very few which are poorly done by them). Digital Eclipse far and away is the best with DotEmu a solid second. Originally posted by DCRage:M2 is not the best developer.
